Welcome

 Hello and Welcome to the NEW NRG Nottingham Website.  Here you'll find out about everything that we are currently doing and hopefully plan to do in the near future.

NRG Nottingham is a company that provides fun, safe and affordable dance, music and sports sessions into the community and schools.  We work with children aged 5-16 and may soon branch out into adult classes.

Chris Tilley

Chris is head of the Sports development and has extensive experience working in the community and sports in a variety of different roles and settings.  Chris has 8 years working in sports and 23 years experience in working with children.  Chris has his CSLA, Tri Golf, Childcare level 2 and also has his level 1 teacher assistant.  Chris has been trained in First Aid and Child Protection.  Chris has recently started leading dance sessions....look out for Big Fish little Fish!!!!

Leah Wright

Leah oversees the dance side of NRG Nottingham and has been dancing for 20 years and teaching for 13 years.  She trained in Tap, Ballet, Modern theatre dance, Jazz, Acro and Katakh as well as casually learning many other styles of dance.  Leah has danced at The Arts Theatre in dance productions and for the BBC also. In 2002 Leah won the award for Volunteer of the year for creating a community dance group and running it.  She choreographs the majority of the dance routines, facilitates and occasionally performs too.  Leah also occassionally leads sports sessions and has her CSLA and level 3 teacher assistant.  leah has been trained in first Aid and Child Protection.

George Matthews

Professional Saxophonist and Drummer, George has extensive knowledge of all types of music and has experience playing in a variety of ensembles, performing anything from opera to chart music. He studied Jazz at Middlesex University and gained a B.A Hons in music. Whilst at university he also ran a big band called ‘Off the record’. As a teacher, he has taught the Saxophone to children and adults and enjoys passing on his skills whilst learning more himself. He also plays the piano, clarinet and flute and has studied music theory.

Gemma Matthews

Classically trained Singer specialising in Musical Theatre, Gemma has been singing for almost 20 years and has been a professional for 11. She has knowledge and experience of all styles and genres of music and has sung both as a solo artist, in bands and various ensembles. As a teacher she has taught as a vocal coach to groups, Individuals and most recently bands. Gemma is also trained in drama and dance, which helps towards teaching overall performances. She also plays the piano & flute and has studied music theory. 

Marie, Siobhan, Beth and Loren are our sessional dance/sports leaders/assistants and between them have a wealth of knowledge from schools, universities and on the job training.

All of our staff have a CRB check and we always send at least one member of staff who is first aid trained.
